Going Postal was formed circa 1999 behind the actions of ‘Witzy’ when he was the owner of a small retail paintball site in Dawlish, Devon. As a manager within the Exeter Royal Mail delivery office he gathered some of the guys together and got them to shoot the hell out of each other which a small number of us kinda liked! These get-togethers went from being once a month to once a week.
The resultant weekly sessions boiled down to a hardcore of seven members, Steve, Chris, Neil, Kevin, Doug, Darren R, Darren M and from May 2001 onwards we started travelling the UK in a Royal Mail minibus attending events learning the ropes.
Markers have changed, we've some much loved inactive members, we've gained some nutters, we had an amazing girl in our team before it was fashionable to do so, the team colours have settled down to Postal blue off the field and Splinter Camo when on it! The minibus has long retired but no matter what the distance from Devon we've had a presence at nearly every event on the UK calendar every year since we named ourselves and stuck a Devonian flag above us in the safe area.
Our home site has always been the much loved UCZ Bunker just to the North of Exeter. The original CQB Urban site has been host to some of the best games in the UK in the last 5 years both under the stewardship of Ash and Bunker Productions and by Going Postal Paintball. We have since moved on to hosting games at MOD sites such as Copehill Down Urban Training Village and some future sites we have up our sleeves. Watch this space!
Our ethos can best be described as pure scenario, non-cheating, non-sparkly, up front, vocal, giggly and just plain mean with no aim to change… ever!
Going Postal today consists of Steve, Ashleigh, Darren, Andy, Kelvin, Ian, James, Luke, Mark, Gary, Richard, Matt and Paul. Better known to you guys on the field as Witzy, Bash, Daz, SNR, Padawan, Giggles, Dodge, Skywalker, JNR, Garage, Rico, Nails and Hardware!
Winners of the 'UK Scenario Team of the Year 2007', 'UK Scenario Marshalling Team of the Year 2011' we are proudly supported by BZ Paintball Supplies, Hammerhead Barrels, Sterling Paintballs, PB Waterpod and Demon Paintball. We would also like to thank Kiss and Bake Up for keeping Bash sugared up on Whoopie Pies! Thanks go to Corporate-Killers for getting us our 'custom made' Splinter trousers back in late 2008.
